Barbera and Barolo wine, unparalleled cuisine and UNESCO World Heritage vineyard landscapes.

Monferrato and Langhe Territory

The Langhe and Monferrato are Piedmont’s most distinct wine areas. They are cousins, each famous for world-class wine and amazing cuisine, but each a little different in their own ways. The Langhe is the peak of refinement with gentle hills that are neatly planted with vines and is home to the “king and queen” of Italian wine: Barolo and Barbaresco. It continues to showcase the noble heritage of the past with picturesque hilltop villages and ancient castles. Monferrato is the wilder cousin. The woods grow a little thicker and the hills are a little steeper. It is the perfect home for Barbera, the fruity red wine that is a local favourite. Both areas were recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Vineyard Landscapes in 2014.

  • Day 1: Morning

Private Guided Winery Tour at Coppo

Since its foundation in 1892 in Canelli, the Coppo winery has remained in the family for over 120 years, making it one of the oldest family-run wineries in all of Italy.

Coppo’s wines are characterized by elegance, finesse, and longevity. Their production centers on Barbera, Metodo Classico sparkling wines, Chardonnay and Moscato d’Asti. In the early 1980s, the Coppo brothers were among the first in the territory to demonstrate the elegance, character, and aging potential of the Barbera grape. The winery’s goal is to guarantee maximum respect for the grape varieties and the environment in all stages of their production.

During your visit you will explore the galleries and tunnels recently renamed the “Underground Cathedrals” and are a UNESCO World Heritage for their spectacular beauty and historical importance. You will discover the historical reasons for which Canelli is indisputably recognized throughout the world as the capital of Italian sparkling wine, and learn how Coppo contributed to Barbera’s renaissance in the wine world.

The tour will end with a private tasting of four Coppo premium wines in their private tasting rooms.

  • Day 1: Afternoon

The secret to success for Ceretto in Piedmont is owed to the exceptional soil and climate of the Langhe and the proprietors’ passion and wisdom to capture this quality in the wine. Ceretto is one of the most important wineries in the Langhe.

It is the tenacious passion of the two founding brothers that transformed the world’s perception of Barolo and the Langhe wine region. From their three fully-certified organic estates, Ceretto makes the region’s great wines: Barolo and Barbaresco. They have also been led by their faith in the territory, which is apparent in the winery’s deep ties to the community. They support various artistic and cultural ventures, including the 3 Michelin-starred Piazza Duomo and the Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett Chapel.

The tour will begin with a guided visit of their cellar, vineyards and production area and will delve into the history of the family and the winery. This will be followed with a premium tasting of four different Nebbiolo-based wines, including two single-vineyard labels, in one of their stunning private tasting rooms that overlook the surrounding vineyards and showcases the winery’s iconic L’Acino viewing room.

    Wine Tasting

    - Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC
