The Grand Wine Tour Association

Founded in 2016, The Grand Wine Tour is an Association of the finest wineries across Italy promoting high-quality wine tourism and offering exclusive hospitality dedicated to wine lovers and to a luxury clientele.

The Grand Wine Tour is also the point of reference Tour Operator to design and organize luxury and personalized Food & Wine tours in the most beautiful Italian wine regions.

The Grand Wine Tour was founded and is managed by business insiders and wine producers protago-nists of the Italian world of wine, who knows the top wineries, renowned and unmissable restaurants, luxurious hotels and majestic landscapes of this beautiful country.

Our wine tours include private chauffeured Mercedes transportation, English-speaking driver, private premium tastings, unique vertical tastings of old vintages, food tastings, fine meals in gourmet and Michelin-starred restaurants, boutique hotels and wine resorts.

From truffle hunting in Alba, to cooking lessons, from vine trekking to bike tours, we are able to take each wine lover through extraordinary and enchanting landscapes and make them experience the best of what the Italian world of wine has to offer.

The Founder


Born and raised in the world of wine, Max Coppo has been working in wine tourism and marketing for over thirty years. He hails from a historic wine making family - Coppo in Canelli, Piedmont - fa-mous for pioneering barbera wines and their UNESCO World Heritage cellars.

Founder, President & CEO of The Grand Wine Tour Association and of TGWT Tour Operator, he has poured his knowledge, expertise and passion for wine and good food into this project.

“The idea for The Grand Wine Tour came to me because of the immense potential I saw in the Italian wine tourism sector, so I embarked on this project to set a standard of what wine tourism in Italy could be.
Before founding The Grand Wine Tour, the sector lacked reliable points of reference, clear communi-cation, and ease for international tourists to approach the complex world of Italian wine.
This was my motivation to create a network of excellence, the foundation of the Association.
Under The Grand Wine Tour, I’ve brought together some of Italy’s finest and most important wineries, united by the same values: high-quality wine, breathtaking vineyard views, and above all, the highest standards of hospitality to suit the needs of wine lovers from around the world.
