The first Relais dedicated to Barolo where everything has been conceived to be lived to the fullest and savored with calm, in the heart of one of the most prestigious Barolo crus

Palás Cerequio, a charming relais and the temple of Barolo, is the ideal starting place to discover the Langhe.

Located in La Morra, in the heart of one of the most famous crus of Barolo, Palás Cerequio offers the luxury and magnetic charm of a total immersion in the world of Piedmont wine, allowing you to savour every moment with calm and sensibility.

Relais Palás Cerequio is in one of the 6 core zones which comprise the fiftieth UNESCO site in Italy: The Viticultural landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, were declared World Heritage Sites in 2014.

The facility, owned by Michele Chiarlo winery, once an ancient noble palace (Palàs in Piedmontese dialect), has been completely renovated and offers its guests the unique experience of staying immersed among the vineyards.

From the architectural design to its furnishings, the works of art hanging on the walls to the selection of wines and gastronomic delicacies, the spectacular views of the vineyards up to the smallest architectural detail, Everything at Palás Cerequio is about the story and passion for Barolo, for quality wines and the joy of life, a typical trait of these extraordinary hills.

Damiano Nigro Restaurant

Cleanliness, simplicity, elegant taste. Tradition evolves and meets haute cuisine without losing its nature, respecting three fundamental elements: quality ingredients, seasonality and avoiding waste.

This is Damiano Nigro’s cuisine, a Michelin-starred chef heading the kitchen of Palás Cerequio. Nigro hails from Apulia, carrying a humble past from the family farm and a long apprenticeship with the great masters of modern cuisine - Marchesi, Ducasse, Crippa - from whom he acquired the curiosity to experiment while fully respecting the raw material.

Nigro’s cuisine is capable of changing in a slow and steady manner without straining or forcing anything, always mindful of the quality of the raw materials and observing their seasonality.

A rigorous philosophy expressed in extremely formal and elegant dishes, consistent yet surprising, capable of capturing the essence of the Langhe using the universal language of great cuisine.

The Caveau of Barolo

Inside the eighteenth-century cellars of Palás Cerequio, the Caveau of Barolo lays in silence. Here is where the history of Michele Chiarlo winery resides: over half a century of Barolo vintages, from 1958 until present, are meticulously preserved, creating a unique collection of over 6,000 bottles of various sizes. Precious documents are preserved in the Caveau of Cerequio including the celebrated viticultural and oenological Monograph of the province of Cuneo, a volume written by Lorenzo Fantini in 1879.

Barolo Grand Crus private tastings at Palás Cerequio

Palás Cerequio offers a unique wine experience for true wine lovers: horizontal and vertical tastings, led by sommelier Roberto Stroppiana, of old Barolo vintages selected among the greatest expressions of the most prestigious crus of the Barolo denomination.
